Sì, è possibile mantenere entrambe le versioni. Il License Manager sia dell’una sia dell’altra versione mantiene le licenze di entrambe in modo che si possa utilizzare quella che si desidera senza doverla attivare ogni volta.

È fondamentale sapere che:

1) due o più versioni 2007 Freelance non funzionano all’interno di un gruppo di lavoro; una versione 2007 Freelance funziona all’interno di un dominio

2) due o più versioni Studio 2009 Freelance funzionano all’interno di un gruppo di lavoro, ma una o più versioni Studio 2009 Freelance non funzionano all’interno di un dominio

L’applicazione WinAlign non è inclusa nella versione SDL Trados Studio 2009, quindi per poterla utilizzare è necessario mantenere installata la versione SDL Trados 2007 Suite.

È importante sapere che:

1) due o più versioni 2007 Freelance non funzionano all’interno di un gruppo di lavoro; una versione 2007 Freelance funziona all’interno di un dominio

2) due o più versioni Studio 2009 Freelance funzionano all’interno di un gruppo di lavoro, ma una o più versioni Studio 2009 Freelance non funzionano all’interno di un dominio

Se non è installata alcuna versione precedente:

È necessario installare prima la versione SDL Trados 2007 Suite, successivamente la versione SDL Trados Studio 2009.

Procedura:
entrare nel proprio account SDL, scaricare questi file dalla sezione My Downloads:

SDLTrados2007Suite_FL_863_CD.exe
SDLTradosStudio2009.exe
SDLMultiTerm2009.exe

Lanciare il file SDLTrados2007Suite_FL_863_CD.exe e procedere con l’installazione, indicando le 5 lingue con le quali si gestiranno le traduzioni.
Al termine dell’installazione viene richiesto il codice di attivazione. Scegliere l’opzione “Activate your product online” e inserire il codice relativo alla versione 2007, reperibile sempre nell’account SDL nella sezione My Licenses.

Terminata l’installazione di SDL Trados 2007 Suite, procedere con l’installazione di SDL Trados Studio 2009.

Lanciare il file SDLMultiTerm2009.exe e procedere con l’installazione del Multiterm, che non richiede alcun codice di attivazione. L’installazione dura diversi minuti e potrebbe richiedere il riavvio del PC.

Al termine, lanciare il file SDLTradosStudio2009.exe. Al termine dell’installazione viene richiesto il codice di attivazione. Scegliere l’opzione “Activate your product online” e inserire il codice relativo alla versione 2009, reperibile sempre nell’account SDL nella sezione My Licenses.

Sempre nell’account, sotto ogni prodotto è reperibile la relativa guida di installazione.

Se è installata la versione SDL Trados 2007 Suite:

Rimuovere il Multiterm 2007.

Restituire il codice di attivazione della versione SDL Trados 2007 Suite, in modo che la versione funzioni in modalità demo. A questo punto, il codice della 2009 compare nell’account SDL alla voce My Licenses. Se non è ancora presente, seguire la procedura indicata in rosso in My Licenses “1 purchased upgrade available to activate”. Alla fine della procedura, comparirà il codice della 2009.

Entrare nel proprio account SDL, scaricare questi file dalla sezione My Downloads:

SDLTradosStudio2009.exe
SDLMultiTerm2009.exe

Lanciare il file SDLMultiTerm2009.exe e procedere con l’installazione del Multiterm, che non richiede alcun codice di attivazione. L’installazione dura diversi minuti e potrebbe richiedere il riavvio del PC.

Il seguente articolo riporta la procedura di installazione dell’hotfix per il filtro di Microsoft Excel 2007 della versione SDL Trados 2007 Suite.

This hotfix addresses the following issues in TagEditor, Translator’s Workbench and SDLX:

• In some cases, content of merged cells is not properly placed in translated document.
• In certain cases, hyperlink text is not extracted for translation.
• Comment content assigned to an empty cell is not extracted for translation.

Explanation

SDL confirms that this is a known issue in the Microsoft Excel 2007 filter that ships with SDL Trados 2007 Suite. A supported cumulative hotfix is now available from SDL. You can apply this fix to computers that are experiencing this specific problem.

Resolution

Until a permanent fix becomes available from SDL in a future update, apply the following hotfix:

Close all SDL Trados applications, including SDLX.

Download the ZIP file Excel2007_Cumulative_Hotfix.zip from the attachments area of this KB article. The ZIP file applies to both Freelance and Professional editions of SDL Trados 2007 Suite and contains version 1.0.11.10 of the files TradosExcel2007Filter.dll and Excel2007_1_0_0_0.xml.

Extract the ZIP file to a temporary folder of your choice, such as C:\temp.

Copy the downloaded TradosExcel2007Filter.dll file and then use it to replace the current version of the file that exists in the Translation Tools installation folder. This is the default location for the Translation Tools folder:

Copy the downloaded Excel2007_1_0_0_0.xml file and and then use it to replace the current version of the file that exists in the All Users\Application Data installation folder. This is the default location for the folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SDL International\Filters

Launch the following registration script file to register all SDL Trados components (administrator rights are required for this). This is the default location for the folder:

SDL Trados 2007 Suite Freelance: C:\Program Files\SDL International\T2007_FL\TT\SelfRegister.bat
SDL Trados 2007 Suite Professional: C:\Program Files\SDL International\T2007\TT\SelfRegister.bat

After replacing the files, running the registration script and restarting SDL Trados TagEditor, SDL Trados Translator’s Workbench or SDLX, the issues described in this article should no longer occur.

Note

Important: All installations of SDL Trados 2007 which are used in the translation supply chain must be updated to use the same version of the filter.

Microsoft Vista

On Microsoft Vista the path to the filters is by default C:\Users\All Users\SDL International\Filters\. Users need administrator rights to be able to access it.

This hotfix addresses the following issue in TagEditor, Translator’s Workbench and SDLX:

• Java properties files encoded as ISO 8859-1 are encoded as UTF-8 when creating the translated versions of the files.

Explanation

SDL confirms these issues in the Java Properties filter that ships with SDL Trados 2007 Suite. A supported cumulative hotfix is now available from SDL. You can apply this fix to computers that are experiencing this specific problem.

Resolution

Until a permanent fix becomes available from SDL in a future update, you can apply the hotfix manually as follows:

Close all SDL Trados applications, including SDLX.

Download the ZIP file JavaProperties_Cumulative_Hotfix.zip from the attachments area of this KB article. The ZIP file applies to both Freelance and Professional editions of SDL Trados 2007 Suite and contains version 1.0.4.4 of the files JavaResourceFilter_1_0_0_0.xml and JavaResourceFilter1.0.0.0.jar.

Extract the ZIP file to a temporary folder of your choice, such as C:\temp.

Copy and replace the JavaResourceFilter1.0.0.0.jar file in the Translation Tools installation folder, by default:

This hotfix addresses the following issues in TagEditor, Translator’s Workbench and SDLX:

• In some cases, translated file cannot be created when document contains grouped objects Error message “iterateContent” may be displayed when opening specific type of Word document.
• In certain cases, if the hyperlink structure was changed during translation, the translated file cannot be saved back to Word 2007 .docx format.
• Date/Time fields in a document footer may cause the conversion of a translated document to Word 2007 .docx format to fail.
• In certain circumstances, moved or removed line break tags can cause the conversion to Word 2007 .docx format to fail.
• In some cases, when custom property fields are used in the source document, the translated file cannot be saved back to Word 2007 .docx format.

Built-in document property fields, such as AUTHOR, are not affected.

A volte capita che improvvisamente il software non funzioni più correttamente, oppure si blocchi.

In questi casi è utile eseguire l’operazione chiamata Register, procedendo in questo modo:

1) Chiudere tutte le applicazioni del software.

2) Andare in Start > Tutti i programmi > SDL International > SDL Trados 2007 > Trados > Register Trados.

Quando la finestrella relativa alla registrazione si chiude, è possibile riaprire le applicazioni del software.

Support for InDesign CS4

Translated table content may not be transferred back to the translated file.
In certain cases, the line spacing in a paragraph may be changed in the translated file.
Index markers in CS3 files may be removed in the translated file.
Additional Byte Order Mark characters may get added to a translated file during the translation process, causing crashes in InDesign on opening these files.
Text formatting in translated files may get changed under certain circumstances.
Certain files cannot be back converted to INX format due to unexpected tag errors.

Download TRADOSFilterSettings.zip. The ZIP file contains updated Filter Settings application which supports new features provided by the InDesign CS4 application such as conditional text etc.
Extract the ZIP file to a temporary folder of your choice, such as C:\temp.

Copy and replace the TRADOSFilterSettings.exe file in the Translation Tools installation folder, by default:

Retranslating files
All files with the problem described in this article should be processed again (converted from *.inx to *.ttx (Trados) or *.itd (SDLX)) after applying the hotfix:
Open the *.inx file in TagEditor or SDLX.
Use the Translate to Fuzzy command (TagEditor) or Apply TM command (SDLX) to retranslate the file.
Alternatively, you can use the Translate command in Translator’s Workbench or use the project wizard in SDLX or SDL Trados Synergy to retranslate the source files.

Important: All installations of SDL Trados 2007 which are used in the translation supply chain must be updated to use the same version of the filter.

Optimised internal tag structure may result in reduced leverage
Based on customer feedback, this version of the InDesign filter features improved tag handling by including less internal tags in the segments to be translated. As a side effect, this may result in less leverage when retranslating the files for the first time. This is by design.

Troubleshooting the error message “File too large”
If you open files bigger than approximately 5 MB (this can differ depending on your hardware), TagEditor or SDLX may display an error message that the file is too large to be processed. In this case, please refer to the section on Defining Java Virtual Machine Size Filter Settings in the File Format Reference Guide. This document is part of the SDL Trados 2007 installation. In some cases, you may also see the “File too large” error message when creating translated file. To solve this, save the TTX or ITD file, restart TagEditor or SDLX, and then try to create the translated file again.

È sconsigliato gestire e tradurre in TagEditor file creati in Word ma salvati in formato HTML, perché questi file vengono taggati in modo errato.

TagEditor si basa sul formato HTML standard (http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/).

I file creati in Word e salvati come HTML non contengono la codificazione tipica dei file originali HTML, quindi non vengono gestiti correttamente da TagEditor.

Se è assolutamente necessario tradurre il file in formato HTML, è possibile verificarlo e convalidarlo sul sito http://validator.w3.org.

In alternativa, se possibile, mantenere o trasformare il file in formato *.doc  oppure *.docx , tradurlo in TagEditor e salvare il file pulito in HTML.

TagEditor e/o Workbench si bloccano o si chiudono:

- durante la traduzione del file, quando si conferma un segmento
- quando si pulisce il file con il comando Save Target As oppure con il Cleanup da Workbench

Questo accade perché nel file di excel è stato utilizzato il font MS Sans Serif.

Microsoft ha rilevato il problema e creato una variante di questo font, ovvero Microsoft Sans Serif, font unicode che contiene molti più caratteri, compresi quelli delle lingue dell’Est, dell’Arabo, dell’Ebraico, del Greco, ecc.

Nel file di excel originale, sostituire il font MS Sans Serif con Microsoft Sans Serif o con un altro font e tradurlo in TagEditor.

Durante la conversione di un file di Excel nell’applicazione MultiTerm Convert , l’errore compare quando si seleziona Microsoft Excel format e si clicca su Next.
Questo perché un componente di SDL MultiTerm Convert non è registrato correttamente.
Chiudere MultiTerm e MultiTerm Convert.

Se si sta utilizzando MultiTerm 2007, lanciare il file #_SelfRegister_Desktop.bat che si trova nella cartella C:\Program Files\SDL International\MultiTerm 2007

Se si sta utilizzando MultiTerm 7.1, lanciare il file #_SelfRegister_Desktop.bat che si trova nella cartella C:\Program Files\TRADOS\MultiTerm

Al termine dell’operazione, lanciare nuovamente il Multiterm Convert.
